A New School Year Starts

We moved the beginning of August to our second rental, and orientation/registration was the following week, with school starting just a couple of days later.  Lots of change still going on for the Dallas crew for sure!  I could never put into words how proud of my boys we were, because knowing how very much they LOVED Landmark, every one of them pressed forward with the greatest attitudes and excitement in starting out the new schoolyear.

Orientation was a really special night in a lot of ways.  Just a week or two before, Caleb had joined the praise band and was able to be a part of the group leading worship that night for all of the families. Keep in mind GCA only goes through 9th grade this year, so this group was made up of 7th-9th graders who were up there leading all of us adults and their fellow students in worship. That group did an incredible job and my mama's heart was full seeing one of our young men already up there leading in one of his God-given ways before the school year had even officially started.  Part of Kenny's job that night was to share the vision of the school.  Remember, this is a young school that has gotten off to an amazing start already over the past few years, and a huge part of Kenny's job here is to lead in the spiritual direction of the school as it is growing and adding a grade each year...that vision was laid out beautifully that night, and I believe he put into words what was the heart of so many there already.  Let's do something different for the sake of the kingdom in some ways that haven't ever been done before, and let's do them powerefully to the glory of God.  Here we go, GCA!  It's a new year, a new season for the Dallas's for sure, and only the Lord knows what all lies ahead for Grace and for our family...but it's time to step into that season.
