Just Life

A little bit of this and that from the month of October...

Finishing Football

Well, what an incredible first football season at GCA! So proud of all the hard work and accomplishments for this first year team. Being Middle School, the season ended the end of October...something the Dallas's have never done before! I think everyone at GCA would agree, we felt like we were just getting going when it came to a close! Here are a few shots from the last game of the season...

Unplanned Photos

My absolute favorite pictures always end up being the ones that I never planned on taking that day.  You know what I mean.  Kenny and I were laying on the hammock while the kids were all running around playing outside, and Elly climbs up there with us (with her silly self), and I grab my phone and start snapping away.  I love every one of these precious pics!

Fall Festival 2012

This year had to be the most last minute Fall Festival Costumes we've EVER done!  It's just life these days, so we just go with the flow, right?!

Regardless, I think they all look awfully sweet!  I will say, it's very strange, because this is the first year EVER I didn't even get a picture of Jake and Caleb!!!  ):   Their costumes were simple, too, but they were dressed up!  They just didn't have them on yet when I snapped these pictures, and by the time they did, it was time to hurry off!  I hate it, but, actually, I was sick that night, so Mama stayed home, and Daddy took the crew to Grace Chapel for the big Fall Festival...it didn't disappoint!  They all had a wonderful night! (and when they got home they all hid their candy from Daddy!)

I love these sweeties!!

Rippavilla

The third and fourth graders at GCA went on a field trip to Rippavilla Plantation.  I have quite a thing for history, so I was pretty excited about getting to join them for the day!  This was such a fun time, because it involved touring the house and part of the land and learning about it, but also getting to spend some time on the property going through the corn maze, roasting marshmallows for s'mores, and a hayride!  It was a beautiful day for it, too.  Here's a peak!

How beautiful is this?!

The corn maze was quite an adventure!!

Repost: Halloween??? To Celebrate or Not???

Well, being the time of year it is, and I'm still not QUITE caught up on the blog yet, (though I'm only a post or two away!!) I thought I would "interrupt" the order of things and post a link to my blogpost last year about Halloween.   I will reiterate what I said at the beginning of the post last year...please don't start reading if you're not going to read the whole post! Thanks (:

Landmark Homecoming

A couple of weeks ago the four big boys and I got to go in to Georgia to be at Landmark's homecoming.  (We also finished packing up the rest of our junk from the attic, but that wasn't the fun part!)  We had promised the boys we would make sure they got to go in for a game sometime this fall and see friends, and homecoming worked out to be the ideal time to do that.  I wish I had snapped a few more pictures (didn't get any of my biggest boys with friends...oops!) but I was too busy catching up with everyone myself!!  Here are just a few shots of the night.  So many emotions being back there seeing current players, coaches, and families, along with so many alumni from over the years who were there at homecoming, many of them with their own families now, too. Such a blessing. We love our Landmark family!!
