GCA First Annual Kids Football Camp

One really fun thing Kenny's always done is run a summer football camp for kids for boys from K4 all the way through middle school.  This year, being the first year at GCA we didn't know exactly how things would go but decided to give it a go.  The response was pretty awesome for a first year camp at a school that's never even played a football game yet! There were about 75 elementary boys out there, and they had a really fun week!  My boys have gone to their daddy's camps for years, and their favorite part is always the player coaches from dad's varsity team who help run the camp.  Well, at Grace there is no varsity team yet, so guess who the player coaches were?!  That's right!  Some  of the middle school boys...including my big guys!  Doesn't seem possible they are big enough to be the ones out there helping work the camp now, but they, along with the others, did an outstanding job leading these young fellas out there. So much fun watching these little guys out there!  (Joshua and David were campers, too!)

Jake showing some of the little guys in his group how to do mat drills...seems like he should still be about the size of those little guys in the background going to football camp himself!!!

Meeting Hannah (:

My sweet neice, Hannah, has gone on a mission trip to various places over the past several summers, and this summer she spent a couple of weeks in Uganda.  Her plane was flying into the Nashville airport, so we were super excited to get to greet her there and see her at least a few minutes!  (We hadn't seen her since Christmas, I believe).  She was my first red headed girlie years ago before the Lord gave us our own boys and girl, (she was 6 before I ever had my first), and she's always been very special to Kenny and me.  I couldn't be more proud of the beautiful young woman she has become, and our Elly loves her to death! (as you can see!)

Family Vacation!!

In July we were blessed to get to go to a friend's lakehouse at Smith Lake and spend the week relaxing, exploring, and just all being together.  It was a much needed, wonderful time to just be together.  Board games, movies, swinging on the REALLY cool swing (see pictures below!), reading, skiing, hiking, swimming, sitting on the huge screen porch...need I go on?!  I don't have pics from the day of skiing, unfortunately, but here are TONS of pics from lots of other fun stuff that week!  The highlight, for sure, for all of us was the hike to Burgess Falls and then playing in the water and under the falls for the day!  I am SO in love with some of these pictures!  (Warning: Major amounts of photos!) I love my family!

The Fourth at Grace Chapel

Fourth of July (hot as it was!!) was a really fun night for our family!  Grace Chapel had a really great night for families all around the community that included lots of great food, fun inflatables for the kids, a fireworks show (that did get cut short due to the dry weather!) , and an awesome concert by Jeremy Camp, whose family is a part of Grace Chapel. Good time getting to be around some new friends and get to know others and a great way to celebrate!!
